Undertaken for a friend, painted in a day in July on location. She'd wanted a larger scale work than I was used to and I'd nothing to offer, so suggested she commission me and suggested a couple of views from some photo's I'd taken in the local area. This was her choice. She's very happy with it.
How could a life based commission work for you? Is there a local view you would particularly like to see a painting of? Is there a spot where I can safely set up easel? If you are willing to take a chance with the weather, then so am I and I'll strive to make the painting work whether the scene is overcast and grey, or bathed in sunshine. I can work in the Summer or the Winter and in most conditions except torrential rain.
Oil on canvas prices and sizes, as a guide: 25/30cm: £130 / 30/40cm: £160
Larger scale: 50/40cm. Will require a preliminary study (eg 25/30cm) before hand, but then you get two paintings. £300 (two location visits).
